It’s exciting to welcome a new year and the enormous promise it holds. As 2019 begins, it’s an opportunity to predict what will become the new mover-and-shaker developments within downtown Nashville. We’ll continue to deliver stories to you about the variety of people who make up the fabric of our local community and who offer context in our everyday lives because we’re a publication about lifestyles and life.

While it’s tempting to resolve to lose weight or drop some habit for New Year’s resolutions, my personal hope for you during 2019 is that you receive courtesy, respect and calmness from others.

The notion that elephants bring good luck has a long history, given that they are symbols of strength, power, stability and wisdom. It’s common superstition that an elephant carving or picture should always face the door if you want to bring good luck into the house. Many people say if the trunks of featured elephants are facing upward, the artwork will shower good fortune on all who walk past it. So, we’re sending you some of those good vibes.

Good luck with your New Year’s resolutions as you continue to shape your own life. Please join us as we march forward in our quest for the best, with our trunks stretching upward!
